Dionysia Johnson-Massie, Esq. is an Equity Shareholder at Littler Mendelson, the largest global labor and employment law firm representing employers.  She is a litigator and is also responsible for strategizing with c-suite executives and other leaders on legal and business matters including a broad range of employment-related litigation, agency and other  investigations, and diversity, equity, and inclusion business strategies.

Johnson-Massie is a skilled and engaging speaker and trainer.  She has presented at national conferences on cutting edge employment, diversity, equity, and inclusion topics, including but not limited to, the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM), National Diversity Counsel (Georgia Chapter), Corporate Counsel Women of Color (CCWC) and the American Bar Association (ABA).  She also has provided learning opportunities, counseling, and training to Board members, executives, managers and employees at some of our country’s leading companies and organizations.  Johnson-Massie also has written countless articles regarding employment, diversity, equity, and inclusion workplace considerations and is the author of Littler’s Religion in the Workplace book.

Sylvia James, Director
Winston & Strawn LLP

Sylvia F. James serves as Winston & Strawn’s Director of Diversity & Inclusion. In this role, Sylvia collaborates with key stakeholders to develop and implement the firm’s diversity and inclusion strategy and initiatives; works with the talent management team to enhance the hiring, advancement, retention, and promotion of diverse lawyers; serves as a liaison to clients and external organizations dedicated to fostering diversity in the legal profession; conducts diversity training; and advises on internal and external diversity-related communications.

Prior to joining Winston, Sylvia served as the diversity lead for a national law firm. In addition, she practiced law as a labor and employment attorney for over a decade. Sylvia is a member of the Advisory Board for the Institute for Inclusion in the Legal Profession (IILP), and a former commissioner on the American Bar Association’s Diversity and Inclusion 360 Commission. She currently serves on the Duke University School of Law Diversity and Inclusion Committee.

Sylvia received a J.D. from Duke University School of Law and a B.A. in Political Science from Vassar College.
