Overview:
On June 30, 2022, the U.S. Supreme Court issued a controversial 5-4 ruling on the Biden v. Texas case which now allows the Biden administration to end former President Trump’s Migrant Protection Protocols (MPP), also known as the “Remain in Mexico.” The policy, which required asylum seekers to return to Mexico pending their asylum application, is being celebrated by immigrant advocates.
The ruling, however, poses drastic implications as well as a myriad of issues on the immigration law landscape. As regulatory updates continue to emerge, it is critical to stay current with the latest and significant developments to avoid pitfalls.
In this CLE Webcast, The Knowledge Group presents immigration law attorney Marcia Longdon (Kingsley Napley, LLP) to discuss the most significant developments and critical issues surrounding immigration policies and regulations. The distinguished speaker will also highlight the best compliance amid the shifting regulatory paradigm.
Key topics that will be covered in this discussion are:
- US Immigration Policies: A Lookback
- Notable Trends and Developments
- Policy Changes and Their Implications
- Risks, Challenges, and Opportunities
- What Lies Ahead
