Texas CLE Requirements: All attorneys admitted to practice in Texas shall complete fifteen (15) credit hours of continuing legal education including at least three (3) credit hours of legal ethics/professional responsibility subjects.

Compliance Cycle: Annual for attorneys licensed for two years or more. Initial compliance cycle for newly admitted attorneys is biennial.

For Newly Admitted Attorneys
Texas CLE Requirements For Newly Admitted Attorneys: Initial MCLE compliance year of newly admitted Texas attorneys is a 24-month period. It begins on the first day of the month they were born, after the date they are licensed. It ends two years later, on the last day of the month that immediately precedes the month they were born.
Newly-licensed attorneys may also claim MCLE credit for accredited CLE completed one year prior to the beginning date of the initial compliance year.
