Ohio CLE Requirements: All attorneys admitted to practice in Ohio shall complete twenty-four (24) credit hours of continuing legal education including at least two and one-half (2.50) credit hours in professional conduct.

Compliance groups for Ohio attorneys:
Attorneys with last name which begins with a letter from A through L must complete the educational requirements on or before December 31 of each odd-numbered year.
Attorneys with last name which begins with a letter from M through Z must complete the educational requirements on or before December 31 of each even-numbered year.

OH CLE Requirements Approval of Programs: The Knowledge Group does not automatically submit CLE application for all our programs in Ohio. Attendees seeking approved credits should send an email to [email protected] for more information.
Program Format: The Knowledge Group webcasts qualify as self-study in Ohio. Only providers may seek accreditation from the Commission for self-study programs. Attorneys are limited to twelve (12) credit hours of self-study per compliance period. View our list of LIVE Webcasts and Recorded Webcasts.
OH CLE Reporting Procedure: The Knowledge Group submits attendance report for approved courses to Ohio Commission on CLE.
COVID-19 Update: In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, The Commission on Continuing Legal Education has waived self-study caps for judges, magistrates, and attorneys with last names beginning with M through Z for the 2021-2022 compliance period ending December 31, 2022.
The Commission on Continuing Legal Education had previously waived self-study caps for judges, magistrates, and attorneys with last names beginning with A through L for the 2020-2021 compliance period ending December 31, 2021. All CLE requirements may be completed through approved self-study courses, including live interactive webinars, for both the compliance periods ending December 31, 2021 and December 31, 2022.
Ohio CLE Requirements For Newly Admitted Attorneys: Newly admitted attorneys in the state of Ohio are required to complete twelve (12) hours of New Lawyers Training instruction during their first biennial reporting period including one (1) hour each of instruction in professionalism, law office management, and client fund management. Attorneys may meet their new lawyers training hour requirements by taking individual courses of their choosing.
