For Senior Attorneys

Delaware CLE For Senior Attorneys: Senior Attorneys must complete a minimum of 12 approved CLE credit hours every two years. At least 6 of those credits must be earned by attending, in person, live CLE approved courses. Additionally, a minimum of 2 credits must be in Ethics. Excess CLE hours, up to 10, can be carried forward to the next two-year period, but Ethics credits cannot be carried over as Ethics credits, though they may count as general CLE credits.

For Newly Admitted Attorneys

Delaware CLE For Newly Admitted Attorneys: Newly admitted attorneys in Delaware must begin their CLE requirement on January 1 of the year following their admission. By the end of their second Compliance Year, they must complete several Fundamentals courses offered by the Delaware State Bar Association, including Lawyer-Client Relations, Family Law, Real Estate, Civil Litigation, Will Drafting and Estate Administration, Law Practice Management and Technology, and Criminal Law and Procedure. Attendance at these courses counts toward the attorney’s minimum continuing legal education obligation as per Rule 4(A).
