Pennsylvania CLE Requirements: All attorneys admitted to practice in Pennsylvania shall complete twelve (12) credit hours of continuing legal education including at least two (2) credit hours of ethics.

All Pennsylvania lawyers have been permanently assigned to one of three (3) Compliance Groups chosen randomly, by lawyer ID number:
First Group – May 1 through April 30 every year
Second Group – September 1 through August 31 every year
Third Group – January 1 through December 31 every year
Compliance Cycle: Annual
Approval of Programs: The Knowledge Group does not automatically submit CLE application for all our programs in Pennsylvania. Attendees seeking approved credits should send an email to [email protected] for more information.
Program Format: The Knowledge Group webcasts qualify as distance learning in Pennsylvania. Attorneys may complete up to twelve (12) credits of distance learning per compliance period. Six (6) credits must be live-online and up to six (6) credits may be completed through pre-recorded online courses. For 2022 Compliance Period: 9/1/21 – 8/31/22 and 2023 Compliance Period: 9/1/22 – 8/31/23, only credits through live-online courses taken during this period may carry forward (up to two compliance periods). PA CLE Reporting Procedure: The Knowledge Group submits attendance report for approved courses to Pennsylvania CLE Board.
Pennsylvania CLE Requirements For Newly Admitted Attorneys: Newly admitted attorneys in the state of Pennsylvania are required by the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania to complete the Bridge the Gap program prior to their first CLE compliance deadline.
