Montana CLE Requirements

Whether you’re an experienced or newly admitted Montana attorney, here’s what you need to know about the MT CLE rules and how to get your Montana CLE Requirements fulfilled with a Knowledge Group CLE Bundle.

Montana CLE Requirements: All attorneys admitted to practice in Montana shall complete fifteen (15) credit hours of continuing legal education including at least two (2) credit hours of ethics or professionalism.

Compliance Deadline: March 31

Reporting Deadline: May 15

Compliance Cycle: Annual

Approval of Programs: The Knowledge Group does not submit application for CLE credits in Montana. The Montana Commission on CLE may recognize and presumptively accredit courses that have been accredited by and held in other states. TKG webcasts are pre-approved in California thus, our courses are presumptively accredited.

Program Format: The Knowledge Group LIVE Webcasts qualify as interactive in Montana. There is no limit to the number of credits a Montana attorney can earn via interactive programs. View our list of LIVE Webcasts.

The Knowledge Group Recorded Webcasts qualify as other methods in Montana. Attorneys are limited to five (5) credit hours of activities delivered through other methods per compliance period. View our list of Recorded Webcasts.

MT CLE Reporting Procedure: The Knowledge Group does not submit attendance report to Montana Commission on CLE. Attorneys may certify attendance of a CLE course by sending certificate of attendance.

Montana CLE Requirements For Newly Admitted Attorneys: Newly-admitted attorneys in the state of Montana are not required to complete any CLE for the duration the reporting year (not the calendar year) during which they are admitted to the State Bar of Montana.
