Overview:

Important developments and issues surrounding fair, reasonable, and non-discriminatory (FRAND) licensing and standard essential patents (SEPs) continue to persist and become burden to businesses and patent holders. Among the most notable updates the TCL v. Ericsson case’s remand from the Federal Circuit; and recent U.S. decisions (FTC v. Qualcomm and Continental v. Avanci) and the referral to the CJEU (Nokia v. Daimler) regarding refusal to license SEPs at the component level is an antitrust violation. Thus, all concerned professionals and practitioners should keep abreast of the current and emerging trends in the SEPs and FRAND litigation to avoid risks and pitfalls. It is also vital for companies to evaluate their existing strategies to devise new ones.

Join a panel of key thought leaders and professionals assembled by The Knowledge Group as they bring the audience to a road beyond the basics of patent licensing. Speakers will delve into an in-depth analysis of the current trends and recent court rulings involving SEP and FRAND licensing. They will also provide the audience with practical strategies along with significant outlook on what to expect in a rapidly evolving legal climate.

Key topics include:

  • What’s New for Standard Essential Patents and FRAND Licensing?
  • Managing Potential Risks and Issues
  • Recent Landmark Cases and Decisions
