Overview:

Today’s business landscape has been significantly confronted with profound economic disruptions and income losses due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. These disruptions have made business interruption insurance a standard component for several business sectors seeking assistance in recovering lost revenue amid the crisis. However, the underlying legal complexities on how business interruption insurance applies to a COVID-19-related loss posed another level of risk and pitfall for companies that may lead to costly litigation and further damages if not properly handled.

Thus, insured businesses and their counsel should have in-depth knowledge about their insurance coverage policies and procedures to maximize the potentials and mitigate risks amidst the COVID-19 era.

In a LIVE CLE Webcast, commercial litigation attorneys Vincent J. Proto (Saiber LLC) and Patrick C. Campbell (Montgomery McCracken Walker & Rhoads LLP) will provide a thorough discussion of business interruption insurance. Speakers will discuss current business insurance policy issues and related case laws. They will also offer best practices in managing the underlying complexities of acquiring insurance coverage in a COVID-19 landscape.

Key topics include:

  • Business Interruption Coverages and Exclusions: Today’s Contested Issues
  • Legislative Updates: Possible Retroactive Coverage?
  • Recent Litigation Developments
  • Recommendations:
    • Insurers
    • Policyholders
  • What’s on the Horizon?
